Activity to reinforce correct sentence structure
June 14

Class: III
Subject: English
Activity to reinforce correct sentence structure.
Students of class III learnt how to rearrange jumbled sentences the fun way.
A group of students were given jumbled flash cards of different parts of a sentence to hold and stand in front of the class. The students in class had to read the sentence, think about the correct structure of a sentence and how to rearrange the words to make complete sense. The playing student then moved the students holding the cards to rearrange it and complete the activity. Different types of sentences were used in this activity. Students used the clue of looking for words with a capital letter to begin the sentence and they looked for punctuation marks to end the sentence. They were able to identify if the sentences were statements, questions, commands, or exclamatory sentences.
